IAP

I was atttached to General Electrics Aviation Service Operations (GEASO), which is one of the major companies to perform component repair in GE under technology department (aviation). It is located at Loyang Industrial Estate, loyang way. Heard of GE before? Well, i never until i got into the company, din know it is one of the largest company in the world. The nearest MRT will be Pasir Ris then u take bus no 6 to get there, but luckily there are bus services provided to bring us there from my house nearby, both bringing me there and back home but to some destination MRT stations, bus interchange etc. The nearest to my place will be Clementi interchange, and to get home, probably by 1730 i can reached.

My attachment period starts from 3rd of March to the 8th of August. A date most of them will remember especially the world who is looking forward to for the olympics in Beijing and for chinese 080808, an auspicious number for babies and marriage. As for me, it is a day i really look forward to, whether at the end of my IAP, i gain some valuable 'things or probably a lesson?' and not forgetting my support for scouts, been disappearing much. So exactly what i do in GEASO, that's a hot question everyone asked me, but seldom they ask whether i'm happy working there.. guess many don bother..

I was attached to the turbine blades department. Blades are assembled together to form a circle or series of blades, which is found on many aircraft engine. The engine consists of three major sections: an air compressor, a combustor and a turbine. In a turbine, this series of blades are found. Yup, you may find it boring and stressful working in the company as their demands are pretty high (from the way how i see the engineers work) and knowing the "dead stuff", following manuals and manuals to get things repaired with the minimum amount of resources, make customers happy and that's it, case close. In GEASO, many of the employees have to go through trainings before being employed in a company. This training is called the six sigma (green belt, black belt etc). The take-kuan-dough ranks are similar to it. So now, do you want to reconsider where you would like to work?

I remembered the first day I was at work was also the day wy started work too. we both had this msg sent by hl, wishing us the best in our work which i think we really appreciate it much. This msg was kept with me until today where i actually deleted it with him around. no reason why i actually do that though. It serves as a motivation, sickening stuff to receive or maybe something that i don receive but i din know how to describe it. but it definitely serves as a motivation at that point of time i receive the msg, it really make my day. Hope to receive more from you in the future? Get it? I believe most of us need a little bit of encouragement to do things better or start doing things. One example will be getting my NYAA, thereafter when a friend of mine got it, i was thinking what i seeking for in life? To be the best, the best that i can be. I decided to go for it and i am sure i will get it. Wish me the best! =D

It's been an enriching experience for me for these pass 51/2 months in GEASO. haha.. not expecting much since i know they are 'just' like this, and of course i don want to owe them anything. hope they just appreciate my help and gifts. My supervisor send me this msg which says "Sorry, didn't have the chance to say goodbye. Pls update me on my presentation and grade, thanks for the gifts and play hard before its too late!" glad they appreciate.

I really appreciate the help and guidance they have offered to me in many projects that enable me to help the company in a way or another, especially those substantiation documents (to prove that we are capable do the types of repairs) and operation sheets and of course know the ahga ahga jobscope of an engineer, perhaps a career i will wish to be involved.
